Biggest problem facing civilization? No caps on income and private wealth, which allow pigs to loot corporations and institutions. Make possession of excessive wealth by anyone anywhere a felony. Mandate international courts to enforce the law. NO MORE OLIGARCHS WHO DRAIN DIGNITY AND WORTH FROM ORDINARY PEOPLE SIMPLY BECAUSE THEY CAN. Does anyone want to end poverty and misery, which have tormented humans since before forever? Gross inequality undermines peaceful living; it humiliates the less able; it leads to moral corrosion and catastrophic collapse. Is it right? Does it make us proud? Is it worth defending? Greed crashes civilizations. Greed wrecks lives. Cruel people rise; they ruin everything and everyone. Is anyone brave enough to challenge billionaires? When we strengthen democracy; when we restrain the wealthy; when we take back what they sequester; when we limit what they steal, we save ourselves. We can change the world. And we will. And the choices being made there could be hugely consequential. [...] There is so much to criticize about Israel's occupation of the West Bank, which I have consistently opposed. [...] Benjamin Netanyahu ... made choices ... terrible ones --- for Israel and for Jews all over the world. [...] Netanyahu's greatest political achievement has been to persuade Israelis and the world that it's never the right time to talk about the morally corrosive occupation and how to help build a credible Palestinian partner to take it off Israel's hands. He and the settlers wore everyone down. When I covered the State Department in the early 1990s, West Bank settlements were routinely described by U.S. officials as "obstacles to peace." But that phrase was gradually dropped. The Trump administration even decided to stop calling the West Bank "occupied" territory. [...] Israel is being surrounded ... . [...] Iran is squeezing Israel into a multifront war with its proxies. I truly worry for Israel.

What is included is Dred Scot v Sanford, where Andrew Jackson lackey Chief Justice Roger Taney wrote words that live today in infamy: "[Negroes are} not intended to be included, under the word 'citizens' in the Constitution, and can therefore claim none of the rights and privileges which that instrument provides for and secures to citizens of the United States." DUMB SCOTUS, DUMB! Who keeps nominating racist fools to SCOTUS, anyway? Taney continued to rule the Court for seven more years until his death in 1864 on the day his home state of Maryland passed an amendment abolishing slavery.
